Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of informed traders, and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a golfer is more likely to finish in the top 10 than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly, potentially offering value to those who agree. It's worth comparing both to identify potential discrepancies.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a golfer will finish in the top 10. The price of each share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome. As more traders buy shares, the price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities in real-time, reflecting the evolving expectations of participants.

This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final leaderboard for the India Championship is verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will determine which golfers ultimately finished within the top 10 based on the official tournament results. The resolution will be based on the official standings published by the DP World Tour, ensuring a transparent and objective determination of the winning outcomes for this market.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding golfer injuries, changes in form, or weather conditions at the tournament venue could cause shifts in probabilities. Unexpected strong or weak performances in preceding tournaments could also influence trader sentiment. Furthermore, major announcements about course conditions or tournament rules might affect the perceived chances of different golfers. Monitoring these signals and staying informed about the event will be crucial for understanding potential market movements.
