On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether an albatross will be scored during the DP World Tour’s India Championship. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price fluctuates based on supply and demand; increased buying pressure raises the price, indicating growing confidence in an albatross, while selling pressure lowers it. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities accordingly.
This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, following the conclusion of the DP World Tour’s India Championship. The outcome will be determined by whether an albatross (a score of three under par on any single hole) is officially recorded during the tournament by the official scoring body. The resolution will be confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting, such as official tournament results and media coverage. Traders should monitor the tournament closely as it progresses to assess potential shifts in probability.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Exceptional weather conditions – particularly soft greens and favorable wind – could increase the likelihood of low scoring and, consequently, an albatross. The performance of top golfers known for aggressive play and accuracy could also drive movement. Any news regarding course modifications or changes to playing conditions would be relevant. Finally, early rounds of the tournament with unusually low scores on specific holes could create a surge in confidence, moving the market towards a 'yes' outcome.
