On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a hole-in-one will be made. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The closer the price is to 100, the more confident the market is that a hole-in-one will occur, while a price closer to 0 indicates lower confidence. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as they profit if their shares increase in value before the market closes.
This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on whether an official hole-in-one is recorded during the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The platform will verify the results against official tournament records and reporting to determine the final outcome of this market. The resolution process focuses on objective confirmation of a hole-in-one, ensuring a transparent and accurate settlement for all traders.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. A particularly challenging course setup, known for difficult pin placements, might decrease confidence and lower the price. Conversely, favorable weather conditions, such as calm winds and soft greens, could increase the likelihood of a hole-in-one and drive the price up. Any news regarding player form, specifically players known for their accuracy, could also impact trading activity. Ultimately, any information that alters the perceived probability of a hole-in-one will likely cause movement in this market.
