Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market aims to reflect the true probability as determined by traders. Therefore, you might find that the implied probabilities on Polymarket differ from those offered by sportsbooks, potentially revealing discrepancies in public perception or expert analysis. It’s common to see prediction markets aggregate information more efficiently, leading to more accurate forecasts, though sportsbook odds can still be valuable for comparison.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible exact score. As more shares are traded for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by supply and demand, meaning that if many traders believe a specific score is likely, they will buy shares, driving up the price. Conversely, if traders believe a score is unlikely, they will sell shares, lowering the price. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result—the exact score of the Dover Athletic FC versus Wealdstone FC match—will be used to determine the winning share(s). Resolution relies on publicly available, authoritative sources to establish the definitive scoreline. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the market’s pricing at the time of resolution, while those holding shares in incorrect outcomes will forfeit their investment.
