This event determines which player, Chuba Hubbard or Jahmyr Gibbs, will gain the most rushing yards in the Detroit vs Carolina football game scheduled for October 4, 2026. The outcome depends solely on their individual performance during the game.
The event resolves based on whether the specified player records the most rushing yards in the Detroit vs Carolina Pro Football game originally scheduled for October 4, 2026. If the designated player does not participate in the game, the market resolves to No. In the event of a tie for the most rushing yards among players, the resolution becomes 1/N, where N equals the number of tied players, and No holders receive $1 minus the Yes payout. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original schedule, the market remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its original time, the market resolves to a fair price. Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own modeling and to balance action, while this market represents the collective predictions of many individuals. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional forecasts, especially when there is significant public interest and trading volume. However, sportsbook odds can be useful for identifying potential value discrepancies in this market, and vice versa, providing a broader perspective on the likely outcome of the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of different outcomes, and the price fluctuates based on supply and demand. As more people believe a particular outcome is likely, the price of contracts for that outcome increases. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective assessment of all traders on the platform, providing a real-time estimate of the likelihood of each team exceeding specific rushing yard totals. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for efficient discovery of information and a constantly updated forecast.
This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final rushing yard totals for both the Detroit Lions and the Carolina Panthers will be sourced from official game statistics. The market will determine which team achieved a higher total of rushing yards during the game. The resolution process is designed to be objective and based on publicly available data, ensuring a fair and transparent outcome for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence trading activity and move this market before resolution. Injury reports for key running backs on either team would be significant, as would any changes to the teams' offensive strategies. Weather conditions on game day could also play a role, as inclement weather often favors a run-heavy approach. Unexpected news regarding coaching decisions or player suspensions could also impact the market. Finally, large volume trades from informed participants could shift prices, reflecting new information or insights regarding the likely outcome of the Lions-Panthers game.
