This set of markets tracks whether both Detroit and Carolina will score a specific minimum number of points in their upcoming Pro Football game. Each market has a different threshold for the points needed from both teams to meet the condition. The outcomes depend on the final score of the game, including any points scored in overtime.
These markets resolve based on whether both Detroit and Carolina score at least a specified number of points (14, 21, 28, or 35) in their Pro Football game originally scheduled for October 4, 2026. For each market, if both teams meet or exceed the designated point threshold in the final score—including any points scored in overtime—the market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains active and resolves according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the market will resolve to a fair price. All markets are independent, each applying its own point threshold, and Kalshi explicitly disclaims any affiliation with the governing league or ownership of related trademarks and branding.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a margin for profit. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own research and beliefs, potentially leading to different probabilities. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information or changing circumstances than sportsbooks, as the price adjusts with each trade. Comparing the two can reveal where public sentiment diverges from expert opinion.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of 'Yes' (both teams score) or 'No' (one or both teams fail to score). The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the implied probability of the event occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy 'Yes' contracts, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants, constantly updating the perceived likelihood of both teams finding the back of the net.
This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on whether both the Detroit and Carolina teams each score at least one point during the game. Official scoring records from the game will be used to determine if both teams successfully scored. The final result will be based on the official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and verifiable outcome for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game takes place. Any news regarding key player injuries on either the Detroit or Carolina teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to be adverse, could also shift the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could cause traders to reassess the probability of both teams scoring. Even public sentiment, reflected in social media or expert predictions, can contribute to price movements in this market.
