In the Detroit vs Arizona Pro Football game, this market determines which team will score the first touchdown. Touchdowns from any source—offensive plays, defensive returns, or special teams—are counted.
The market resolves to Yes for the team that scores the first touchdown, including those scored in overtime from any source. If neither team scores a touchdown, the No Team market resolves to Yes. Postponements within 48 hours of the original start time keep the market open; delays beyond that result in a fair price resolution. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the governing league, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a margin for profit. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own research and beliefs, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as more information becomes available. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the same data. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than sportsbooks.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, each player potentially scoring the first touchdown. The price of each contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, these prices adjust dynamically, providing a real-time indication of the collective forecast. The closer we get to the event, the more volatile the prices may become as uncertainty decreases.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scores the first touchdown in the Detroit versus Arizona game. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and play-by-play data. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders holding contracts for the correct outcome will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for incorrect outcomes will not.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding player injuries to key offensive players on either the Detroit or Arizona teams would likely cause substantial price movements. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if severe weather is predicted, could also influence the market, as it may affect the style of play and scoring opportunities. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic adjustments announced before the game could also shift probabilities. Finally, even late-breaking news about team morale or internal conflicts could move the market as traders react to new information.
