Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect a different kind of information than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while prediction markets are driven by individuals betting their own capital. This can lead to prediction market odds being more accurate, particularly when a large volume of traders participate. The collective intelligence of the crowd often weighs information differently than a sportsbook’s algorithms. For this market, comparing the implied probabilities from both sources can reveal interesting insights into public perception versus professional analysis.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Each platform has a different user base with varying levels of expertise and access to information, which influences trading behavior. Additionally, the liquidity and volume on each platform can differ, impacting price discovery. Polymarket currently favors Will Norwich City FC win on 2026-11-03? at 46.5%, while Kalshi leans toward Norwich wins at 47.0%. These differences reflect the unique dynamics of each market and the individual assessments of its traders.
