Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing a team’s chances, the odds here may move in the opposite direction. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges that hasn’t been fully incorporated into sportsbook lines.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price will fluctuate, providing a dynamic assessment of the likelihood of each team winning. The current volume indicates the level of interest and conviction surrounding the DEL hockey matchup.
This market resolves around Oct 23, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
