Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin, and may be influenced by promotional considerations. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders on Polymarket, aims to reflect the true probability of an outcome, as perceived by those willing to put their capital at risk. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, prediction markets can quickly adjust to new information and changing sentiment, potentially offering more accurate probabilities as the event nears.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price fluctuates, providing a dynamic assessment of the event’s potential results. The current price reflects the aggregated wisdom of the crowd, offering a unique perspective on the Kölner Haie versus Nürnberg Ice Tigers game.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the DEL hockey game between Kölner Haie and Nürnberg Ice Tigers, as reported by the league’s official sources. The market will determine which team won the matchup, and payouts will be distributed accordingly to those who correctly predicted the result. Traders should monitor official league announcements for the final outcome and resolution timing.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before it resolves. Any news regarding key player injuries, changes in team lineups, or unexpected coaching decisions could influence trader sentiment. Furthermore, performance in preceding games, shifts in team momentum, and even weather conditions (potentially impacting travel) could all play a role. Major upsets in other DEL games might also subtly shift perceptions of team strength, impacting trading activity and the price of shares in this market. Any significant development related to either the Kölner Haie or the Nürnberg Ice Tigers has the potential to alter predictions.
