Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a more accurate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. While sportsbook odds can be influenced by public perception and marketing, prediction markets tend to converge toward the true probability as more information becomes available. The difference between the two can sometimes reveal market inefficiencies or differing levels of information.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by which team—D.C. United SC or New York City FC—scores the first goal in the match. The official match records will serve as the basis for verifying the result. Traders should monitor official sources for updates as the match progresses, as this will determine the final settlement of this market.
