This market tracks which team will lead at the end of the first half in an upcoming college football game between Davidson and St. Thomas. It reflects the competitive performance of both teams in the initial 30 minutes of play, offering insight into early-game momentum without considering the full match outcome.
The market resolves based on the result of the first half of the Davidson vs St. Thomas college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. If either Davidson or St. Thomas is leading at the end of the first half, the respective market for that team resolves to Yes. If the teams are tied at the end of the first half, the Tie market resolves to Yes. All markets consider only points scored during the first half. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the official result. If the game fails to start within the 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any official affiliation with the governing league, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Kalshi allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to differences, especially when public sentiment strongly favors one outcome. If a large number of people believe a particular team will win, the price on Kalshi may shift more dramatically than at a sportsbook. Comparing these odds can offer a valuable insight into the 'wisdom of the crowd' versus professional oddsmakers.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the outcome of the first half. The price of a contract directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy contracts for a specific team, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of victory. Conversely, selling contracts lowers the price. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the final score of the first half between Davidson and St. Thomas will be used to determine the winning team. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and results, ensuring an objective and transparent process. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for the losing team will not.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Davidson or St. Thomas would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team performance leading up to the game, such as unexpected wins or losses, could also shift trader sentiment. Even broader factors like weather conditions or coaching strategies could play a role. Unexpected announcements or changes in public perception regarding either team’s chances of success will all impact trading activity on Kalshi.
