Prediction market odds often differ from those found at sportsbooks, reflecting the wisdom of the crowd rather than a bookmaker’s assessment. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individuals. If a significant number of people believe an outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the price will move accordingly. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply a larger and more diverse pool of participants contributing to this market.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell shares representing different outcomes. The price of each share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions in real-time, offering a unique perspective on the event's potential results.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Dartmouth vs. Yale game, as reported by a trusted source. The market will then determine the winning shares and distribute payouts accordingly. Traders will have until the resolution time to adjust their positions based on any late-breaking news or developments related to the game.
Several signals could significantly move this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or unexpected weather conditions could influence trader sentiment. Major upsets in other games involving these teams, or even significant shifts in public perception based on media coverage, could also lead to price fluctuations. Furthermore, large-volume trades by influential participants on Predict can quickly shift the odds, reflecting a change in collective belief about the game’s likely outcome.
