This event tracks the number of receptions achieved by various players in a specific football game, resolving based on whether they meet or exceed designated thresholds.
All markets are designated as protected, meaning if a player participates in at least one play during the first half but does not participate in any play after the conclusion of the first half (including overtime), the contract resolves to the fair price prior to the opening kickoff unless the player records the required number of receptions. If the player participates in at least one play after the first half, the contract settles based on actual statistics regardless of first-half participation. Participation in a play nullified by penalty does not count, and a player who never participates remains subject to the fair price non-participation rule. The protected designation applies only to full-game contracts with an above or at-least payout criterion, and this event includes full game receptions including overtime.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often diverging from initial sportsbook lines as new information emerges and more traders participate. Sportsbooks set initial odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individuals. If a significant number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the price will adjust accordingly. This dynamic can lead to prediction market odds being more accurate, especially closer to the event, as they incorporate a wider range of perspectives than traditional betting outlets.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more a contract is purchased, the higher its price rises, indicating increased confidence in that outcome. Conversely, selling contracts drives the price down. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all traders, constantly adjusting to new information and insights regarding the Cowboys-Packers game.
This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the total number of receptions made by players from both the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers during the game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The official game statistics, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will serve as the basis for verifying the final reception count. The resolution process aims to provide a clear and transparent determination of the market's outcome based on objective game data.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Injury reports for key wide receivers or tight ends on either team would be significant catalysts, as they directly impact the potential for receptions. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly conditions that favor passing or running, could also shift market sentiment. Unexpected news regarding team strategies or player matchups could further contribute to price movements. Finally, significant betting activity or large volume trades on Kalshi itself can create momentum and influence the direction of the market before the game takes place.
