Frequently asked questions

Comparing prediction market odds to those offered by sportsbooks reveals how the wisdom of the crowd differs from expert analysis. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs about the outcome. Often, prediction markets can be more accurate than traditional forecasts, especially when there is significant public interest and active trading. Discrepancies between the two can present arbitrage opportunities for informed traders, although those opportunities are often quickly eliminated by market participants.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, providing a real-time assessment of the expected result of the Dalian vs Shenzhen second half.

This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
