Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks primarily cater to casual bettors and may incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, this market allows for more sophisticated trading based on a wider range of data and analysis. It’s common to see discrepancies between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, as prediction markets can aggregate the wisdom of the crowd more effectively. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders profit from price inefficiencies.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure drives prices down. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adjust to incorporate new information and changing sentiment. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket.

This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Culaghin vs. Scofari match, as reported by recognized sports authorities.
