Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, especially as the event approaches. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or marketing considerations, while this market aggregates the diverse perspectives of informed traders. However, initial sportsbook odds can sometimes offer value before the prediction market fully incorporates information. It's important to compare both to identify potential discrepancies and make informed decisions about where to place your bets.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people trade, the price adjusts to reflect new information and changing sentiment. The higher the price of a share, the more likely the market believes that outcome is to happen. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to evolving expectations.

This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team is officially recorded as scoring the first goal in the Cuba vs. St. Kitts and Nevis match. Official sources such as sports news outlets and the governing body's official website will be used to determine the first scoring team. The market will then settle to 100% probability for the winning outcome and 0% for the losing outcome.

Several factors could influence the odds in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or even weather conditions affecting the match could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected results in other qualifying matches or significant tactical adjustments announced by either team's coach could also impact the market. Furthermore, large-volume trades from informed participants could quickly move the price, reflecting new information or a change in overall market perception. Monitoring these signals is key to understanding potential shifts in this market.
