Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, they can express that belief by buying shares, driving up the price and potentially creating an arbitrage opportunity. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities based on different information and incentives.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores, and the price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price moves based on supply and demand; if more people buy shares in a particular outcome, the price goes up, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities as the event approaches. The current trading volume indicates the level of interest in various potential outcomes.
