Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own research and beliefs. If there’s a significant discrepancy, it may indicate that the market perceives information differently than sportsbooks, or that one venue has more informed traders. It’s important to compare both to get a well-rounded view before making a decision.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular team, the price of those shares increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability of them scoring first. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading.

This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the Costa Rican soccer match. The official match records will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome. Any disputes will be settled based on widely accepted soccer rules and official game statistics. Traders should ensure they understand the event details to accurately assess the potential outcomes.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, suspensions, or changes in coaching staff could significantly shift the odds. Unexpected weather conditions on match day could also play a role, potentially favoring one team's playing style over another. Furthermore, pre-match analysis from soccer experts and any shifts in public sentiment could impact trading activity and, consequently, the market prices. Keep an eye on these signals as they emerge to understand potential movements in this market.
