Description

This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total in the cricket match between Oman and Nepal scheduled for October 13 2026 at 2:00 AM ET in Cricket World Cup League 2. The outcome corresponding to Oman will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from Oman. The outcome corresponding to Nepal will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from Nepal. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and official statistics are available.

Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may be influenced by factors like public betting biases or risk management. This market, driven by informed traders, aims to provide a more accurate assessment of probabilities as it incorporates a wider range of information and perspectives. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions on player form, pitch conditions, and other relevant variables.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where shares representing each potential top batter are bought and sold. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that player being the top batter. As more traders believe a particular player will perform well, the price of their shares increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market efficiently aggregates information and adjusts probabilities based on the collective actions of participants, offering a dynamic and real-time assessment of the likely outcome.

This market resolves around Oct 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which player scores the most runs in the Oman vs Nepal cricket match. In the event of a tie, the player who reached the milestone first will be considered the top batter. The official match results, as reported by recognized cricket authorities, will serve as the definitive source for determining the winner of this market.

Several factors could significantly influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or weather forecasts impacting playing conditions could shift probabilities. Unexpected announcements about pitch conditions or key player form could also drive trading activity. Furthermore, expert analysis and pre-match commentary, if they sway public opinion, could lead to changes in the market's pricing. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding potential movements in the odds for this market.
