Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. As more information becomes available and traders exchange views, the odds on Polymarket may converge with or diverge from sportsbook odds, depending on whether the market identifies information the sportsbook missed or mispriced. It's common to see prediction markets outperform traditional sportsbooks in accuracy.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether CR Vasco da Gama or CR Flamengo will score first. The price of these shares directly reflects the probability of each outcome, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a team will score first, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds are constantly updated based on the collective intelligence of the traders participating.
This market resolves around Oct 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
