Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a 'wisdom of the crowd' perspective, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If polls or analysts heavily favor a particular outcome, we might see the odds on Polymarket shift in that direction, potentially surpassing the implied probability from traditional sportsbooks. However, it's important to remember that market dynamics and information flow can cause discrepancies, and this market can move independently based on trader behavior.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its shares will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of those actively trading in this market.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the second half of the CR Brasil vs. Botafogo match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by the official result reported by the governing football league, and the market will settle based on which outcome—CR Brasil win, Botafogo win, or draw—actually occurs during the second half of the game. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome will receive a payout.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced before the match could significantly impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, in-game events during the first half, such as early goals or red cards, could cause a rapid shift in the odds. Unexpected weather conditions or even public endorsements from influential figures could also contribute to movement in this market, as traders react to new information and adjust their predictions.
