Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs. If a significant number of people believe one team is more likely to win the second half than sportsbooks suggest, the price will move accordingly. It's common to see discrepancies, especially when there's strong public sentiment or new information emerges that hasn't been fully incorporated into sportsbook lines.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular result, its price increases, and the probability of that outcome goes up. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements reflect the collective intelligence of the market participants, making it a dynamic and responsive indicator of expectations for the Cowdenbeath vs. Berwick Rangers second half.

This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by which team—Cowdenbeath FC or Berwick Rangers FC—wins the second half of the match. Any goals scored during extra time will not be considered. The final score at the end of the regulation second half will be the deciding factor, and verified against credible public sources to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Several factors could influence this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments announced before the match could significantly shift probabilities. Unexpected weather conditions on match day could also play a role, potentially favoring one team's playing style over another. Furthermore, in-game events during the first half, such as red cards or early goals, could rapidly alter trader sentiment and cause substantial price movements in this market.
