Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s prices are driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of people believe one team is more likely to score first in the second half than sportsbooks suggest, the price will move accordingly. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks, particularly when information isn't widely available or when there’s strong public sentiment influencing the outcome.

This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team, if any, scores the first goal in the second half of the Coventry City FC vs. Newcastle United FC match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. The outcome will be determined by the official match report, which will clearly indicate the first scoring team in the second half or confirm that neither team scored.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding team injuries, particularly to key attacking players for either Coventry or Newcastle, would likely cause a shift in the odds. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact the game and affect trader sentiment. Furthermore, tactical changes announced by either manager before the match, or even during halftime, could lead to price movements. Finally, any significant in-game events during the first half, like a red card or a penalty, could dramatically alter the perceived probabilities.
