Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, whereas this market relies on individuals freely trading based on their own information and beliefs. If there’s a significant difference, it could indicate that market participants have access to information not yet fully incorporated into sportsbook lines, or that they simply interpret the available information differently. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds, particularly when there is strong public interest.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous exchange where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts dynamically, providing a real-time assessment of the likely winner of the Courmayeur tennis match. This creates a fluid and responsive pricing mechanism driven by collective intelligence.

Any information that alters the perceived probability of either player winning, whether it's statistical analysis or subjective assessments, has the potential to move the market and change the odds until the match concludes.
