Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. However, sportsbook odds can still offer a useful comparison point. If there’s a significant difference between the implied probability on Polymarket and those offered by sportsbooks, it could indicate an opportunity for informed traders. It’s always a good idea to consult multiple sources when making predictions.
This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by the official result of the Costa Rica vs. Haiti second half as reported by official sports sources. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders who correctly predicted the result will be paid out according to their shareholding in the winning outcome, while those who bet on losing outcomes will forfeit their shares.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 5, 2026. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Costa Rica or Haiti team would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the second half could also shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions during the match, or even a controversial referee decision, could also cause the market to react. Overall, any information that alters the perceived probability of either team winning the second half has the potential to move this market.
