Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If sportsbooks heavily favor one team, this market might show a more nuanced view if traders believe the odds are mispriced. Discrepancies can arise from differing opinions on team form, potential upsets, or even the influence of external factors not fully captured by traditional bookmakers. It's common to see some divergence, but significant differences can present trading opportunities.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure drives prices down. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adjust to incorporate new information and changing perceptions about the Columbus doubles match.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Columbus doubles match between Milavsky/Shick and Carpico/Filin.
