This market focuses on predicting the outcome of a specific segment of a college football game between Colorado and Oklahoma State. It assesses whether one team will dominate the other by a certain margin of points during a particular quarter, providing insight into expected performance dynamics.
The market resolves based on the point differential between Colorado and Oklahoma State exclusively during the 2nd quarter of their game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If Oklahoma State wins by more than a specified margin (ranging from 2.5 to 10.5 points), or if Colorado wins by more than a specified margin (also ranging from 2.5 to 10.5 points), the respective market resolves to Yes. Only points scored in the 2nd quarter count toward the resolution. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original start time, the market remains active and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small team of experts, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. It’s common to see initial discrepancies between the two, as sportsbooks may incorporate factors like public betting percentages or promotional considerations. Over time, the prediction market price tends to become a strong indicator of the true probability of various outcomes, and can sometimes outperform sportsbook lines. Comparing the two can provide a more comprehensive view.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that spread occurring. As more people buy contracts for a specific spread, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence in that outcome. Conversely, selling contracts lowers the price. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, creating a real-time forecast for the second quarter spread between Colorado and Oklahoma State.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final second quarter spread of the Colorado versus Oklahoma State football game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the governing sports authority. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout of 100, while those holding contracts on incorrect spreads will receive nothing. The platform will automatically settle all outstanding contracts based on this verified result.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Colorado or Oklahoma State would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse playing conditions, could also impact the spread. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could shift market sentiment. Even public perception, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, can contribute to price fluctuations in this market as traders react to new information.
