This market assesses various thresholds of points scored by both teams combined during the second quarter of a college football game. Each threshold represents a different level of scoring intensity that traders can speculate on.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the second quarter of the Colorado St. vs Texas St. college football game scheduled for October 15, 2026. If the cumulative points exceed the specified threshold for each market, it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Postponements that commence within 48 hours of the original start time are still valid, with resolution based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the second quarter count toward resolution, and Kalshi disclaims any official affiliation with the NCAA.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the likely outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before significant events or when public sentiment strongly favors one side. Examining these differences can be valuable for informed decision-making, though it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, not guarantees.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the total points in the 2nd quarter falling within a specific range. As more people buy contracts predicting a higher total, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand, reflecting the aggregate expectations of all participants. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the second quarter of the Colorado St. vs Texas St. game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, ensuring an objective determination of the total points scored during that period. The platform will then determine which contracts payout based on whether the actual total falls within the predicted range for each contract. Traders holding winning contracts will receive a payout according to the contract's terms.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Colorado St. or Texas St. could significantly shift expectations. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect scoring, might also impact trading activity. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first quarter could lead to adjustments in predictions, as traders react to the initial flow of the game. Public sentiment and any late-breaking analysis from sports commentators could also contribute to price movements in this market.
