Two professional League of Legends teams, Cloud9 and LYON, will compete in a best-of-series match on October 3, 2026. The outcome depends on which team secures victory on the third map of their match, determining the winner of that specific map.
The market resolves to Yes if either Cloud9 or LYON wins map 3 of their scheduled match on October 3, 2026, at 4:00 PM EDT. If the match or map is postponed beyond 48 hours, cancelled, or forfeited before play begins, the market resolves to the fair market price. If a map begins and is later forfeited, resolution follows the official result from the governing body. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the League or its trademarks.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. Therefore, discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the collective intelligence of the crowd. It’s common to see this market odds shift more dynamically in response to new information or breaking news compared to sportsbook lines, which may adjust less frequently.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price fluctuates, providing a dynamic assessment of the event's likelihood. Traders can set their own buy and sell orders, influencing the market price based on their individual analysis and risk tolerance. This creates a fluid and responsive pricing mechanism.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of Map 3 in the Cloud9 versus LYON CS:GO match. The platform will verify the result against trusted sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the winning outcome will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on the losing outcome will forfeit their investment. The process is designed to be objective and based on publicly available information.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding player form, team strategies, or potential roster changes for either Cloud9 or LYON could shift expectations. In-game performance during the earlier maps of the series could also influence the perceived likelihood of either team winning Map 3. Unexpected tactical shifts or individual player performances during the match itself will likely cause rapid price movements. Major upsets or dominant performances in preceding rounds are also catalysts that could move the market considerably before Oct 3, 2026.
