These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the second half of a college football game, including any overtime periods. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the second half (including overtime) of the Cincinnati vs West Virginia college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the second half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, trading remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on statistical models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market’s pricing is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies emerge, especially as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts. Examining these differences can offer insights into where the crowd believes the value lies compared to traditional oddsmakers.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where buyers and sellers set the prices for contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, the total points scored in the second half being over or under the specified number. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders can buy 'yes' contracts if they believe the total will be over, or 'no' contracts if they believe it will be under. As more trades occur, the price adjusts to reflect the evolving consensus of participants. The market dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the Cincinnati vs West Virginia game will be used to determine whether the total points scored exceeded or fell short of the predetermined number. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and will be publicly available following the conclusion of the game. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct outcome will receive a payout.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Cincinnati or West Virginia would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift the odds. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first half, such as a dominant offensive showing by one team, could lead traders to adjust their positions. Public betting patterns and any significant shifts in expert analysis could also contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
