This set of markets tracks the total points scored by both teams in the first quarter of an upcoming college football game. Participants predict whether the combined score will exceed specific thresholds, offering various levels of difficulty for forecasting early-game performance.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first quarter of the Cincinnati vs West Virginia college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market has a different threshold for resolution, ranging from more than 2.5 points to more than 27.5 points. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve according to the actual first-quarter result. Should the game fail to start within this 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the specific threshold chosen. Only points scored in the first quarter count toward resolution.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a wider range of information and perspectives than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs. Therefore, you may find differences between the implied probabilities in this market and those offered by sportsbooks. These differences can arise from varying levels of information, differing opinions, or even behavioral biases among bettors and market participants. It’s useful to compare both to form a well-rounded view.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their predictions about the Cincinnati vs West Virginia 1st quarter total. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the probability of the 'Yes' outcome (the total being over the implied line). As more traders buy 'Yes' contracts, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, constantly adjusting to new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the first quarter of the Cincinnati vs West Virginia game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official total points scored by both teams in the first quarter, as reported by official game statistics. The market will pay out $100 to the holders of 'Yes' contracts if the actual total exceeds the implied line, and $0 to holders of 'No' contracts. Conversely, it will pay out $100 to 'No' contract holders if the total is at or below the implied line.
