This set of markets tracks various scoring thresholds for the first half of a college football game between Cincinnati and West Virginia. Each threshold represents a different point total that, if exceeded by the combined scores of both teams, determines the outcome of that specific market.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the first half of the Cincinnati vs West Virginia college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., Over 2.5 points, Over 6.5 points, etc.), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored in the first half count toward these markets. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original start time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of informed traders, and can differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance their risk, while this market allows participants to freely trade based on their own analysis. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s line is inaccurate, the price in this market will move accordingly. Generally, prediction markets tend to be more accurate than traditional polls or expert opinions, as they incentivize participants to express their true beliefs. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before significant events or news breaks.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes for the 1st half total. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are constantly adjusting their positions based on new information and their own expectations, leading to dynamic price fluctuations. This creates a real-time assessment of the likelihood of various scores, distinct from static odds offered elsewhere. The current price represents the market’s best estimate of the actual result.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official first half total score of the Cincinnati vs West Virginia game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score will be sourced from official game statistics and will determine which contracts pay out. The resolution will be based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first half of the game, as recorded by the official scorekeepers. Traders will be able to view the resolution details on Kalshi following the game’s conclusion.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Cincinnati or West Virginia would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly those impacting offensive play, could also shift expectations. Late-breaking information about team strategies or coaching decisions might also affect trading activity.
