Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can take a position in this market, driving the odds closer to their collective assessment. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of money flows into either venue, as this market can react more quickly to new information and changing sentiment.
