Two professional basketball teams will compete in a match where the outcome determines the winner based on the final score.
The market resolves to Yes for the respective team if they win the match as scheduled on Oct 24, 2026, at 2:30 PM EDT. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market stays open and resolves based on the official result. If the game is cancelled or does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, the odds here will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see this market odds move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts. This can provide a different perspective on the likely result.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the market's current expectation of that outcome's probability. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective belief. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by supply and demand; if more people buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price goes up, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to provide a real-time assessment of the event's potential results.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Cholet Basket versus Nanterre 92 game, as reported by a recognized sports data provider. The winning team, as determined by the official game score, will dictate the outcome of this market. Traders holding contracts on the winning outcome will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or coaching decisions could significantly shift expectations. Unexpected performance in preceding games, or even changes in weather conditions (if applicable for outdoor games) could also play a role. Public sentiment, as reflected in news articles and social media, can also influence trading activity and, consequently, the market price. Major upsets in other related games might also subtly affect perceptions and trading behavior in this market.
