Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market aims to represent the true probabilities as assessed by traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases among bettors, and the incentive structures of each venue. If sportsbook odds strongly disagree with those reflected in this market, it may signal an opportunity for informed traders to capitalize on perceived mispricings. It’s important to note that these are distinct estimations of the same underlying event.
