These markets focus on the performance of a specific pitcher in an upcoming baseball game between two teams. The outcomes depend entirely on the pitcher's ability to record a certain number of strikeouts during his start. If the pitcher does not start or is removed before facing any batters, the markets adjust to reflect fair market value instead of the raw performance metric.
All markets evaluate whether Parker Messick, the starting pitcher for Chicago WS, records a specified minimum number of strikeouts in the game against Cleveland on October 3, 2026. If Messick is scratched or does not start, all markets resolve to the fair market price. If he enters the game in relief, these markets also resolve to the fair market price, as relief appearances do not count toward strikeouts for settlement purposes. Only strikeouts accumulated while Messick is a starting pitcher and has faced at least one batter are considered for determining market outcomes. Each market has a distinct threshold for strikeouts (ranging from 4 to 11), with the market resolving to 'Yes' if Messick meets or exceeds that threshold during his start.
