If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game is canceled or fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Often, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. This can lead to divergences, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks in response to breaking news or late-developing trends, providing a potentially more efficient forecast.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market's consensus view of that outcome's likelihood. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The current implied probability of a particular team winning is reflected in the contract price, allowing traders to assess potential value and make informed decisions.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the first half of the Chicago vs Denver game will be declared the winner. The result will be determined based on official game statistics and reporting, ensuring a transparent and objective resolution process. Traders will be able to claim their winnings based on the final outcome as reported by these sources.
Several signals could significantly move this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Chicago or Denver teams would likely have a substantial impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team's playing style, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could influence trader sentiment. Even significant shifts in public perception, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, can contribute to price movements in this market.
