This set of markets focuses on whether specific players or team defense units will score a minimum number of touchdowns in an upcoming football game. Each market tracks individual performance metrics for named players or defensive units, with consistent protective clauses regarding partial game participation.
All markets resolve based on whether specified players or defensive units achieve designated touchdown thresholds during the full game, including overtime. Each contract is designated as protected: if a player participates in at least one play during the first half but none after halftime (including overtime), the contract resolves to the pre-game fair price unless the player meets the touchdown requirement, in which case it settles based on actual statistics. If the player participates in any play after the first half, the contract always settles based on actual statistics, irrespective of first-half involvement. Participation in a play nullified by penalty does not count, and players who never participate are subject to the fair price non-participation rule. The protection mechanism applies exclusively to full-game contracts with 'at least' payout criteria. Passing touchdowns do not count toward player totals, while team defense/special-teams selections are settled purely on actual touchdowns without player participation exceptions.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy a contract, its price increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of success. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates what percentage of the event’s total cost is assigned to a specific outcome. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly adapt to new information and changing opinions.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official statistics for the number of touchdowns scored during the Chicago versus Atlanta game. The final outcome will be determined by independent verification of the game results, ensuring a fair and accurate settlement of all contracts. Traders will be able to view the resolution details on Kalshi following the completion of the game and official data release.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either the Chicago or Atlanta teams would likely have a significant impact, as it directly affects their offensive capabilities. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if severe weather is predicted, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team dynamics could influence how traders assess the likelihood of scoring touchdowns. Overall game analysis and expert predictions published before the game could also move this market.
