This event tracks the number of receptions achieved by various players in a specific football game. The outcome depends on whether individual players meet or exceed predetermined reception thresholds during the match.
All contracts in this event are designated as protected. If a player participates in at least one play during the first half but does not participate in any play after the conclusion of the first half (including overtime), the contract resolves to the fair price prior to the game's opening kickoff unless the player records the required number of receptions, in which case it settles based on actual statistics. If the player participates in at least one play after the first half, the contract settles based on actual statistics regardless of first-half participation. Penalties that nullify a play do not count toward participation, and players who never participate are subject to the fair price non-participation rule. The protected designation applies only to full-game contracts with an above or at-least payout criterion, and this event includes overtime statistics.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, incorporating a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a particular reception total is more or less likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price in this market will adjust accordingly. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of both markets.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different reception totals. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that specific reception total occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants, providing a real-time assessment of the likelihood of various outcomes for the Chicago vs Atlanta game.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final reception totals for both the Chicago and Atlanta teams will be sourced from official game statistics. The market will settle based on the total combined receptions achieved by players from both teams during the game. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct reception total will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for incorrect totals will not.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Late-breaking news regarding injuries to key wide receivers or tight ends on either the Chicago or Atlanta teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly conditions that favor passing or running, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, any updates on team strategies or player matchups leading up to the game could shift market sentiment and alter the price of contracts in this market.
