These markets track the performance of quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in an upcoming football game between Chicago and Atlanta. They focus on whether he will throw a specific number of touchdown passes during the full game, including any overtime periods. The contracts include special 'protected' conditions related to player participation timing.
These markets resolve based on Michael Penix Jr.'s passing touchdown performance in the full Chicago vs Atlanta Pro Football game scheduled for October 18, 2026, including overtime. Each market has a different threshold (1+, 2+, 3+, or 4+ passing touchdowns) that must be met for resolution to 'Yes'. All contracts are designated as 'protected', meaning if Penix Jr. participates in at least one play during the first half but does not participate in any play after the first half (including overtime), the contract resolves to the fair price set prior to the game's kickoff—unless he meets the required touchdown threshold, in which case it settles based on actual statistics. If he participates in any play after the first half, the contract always settles based on actual statistics, regardless of first-half involvement. Participation in a play nullified by penalty does not count, and a player who never participates is subject to the fair price non-participation rule. The protected designation applies only to full-game contracts with an above or at-least payout criterion.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price in this market will adjust accordingly. This can sometimes lead to prediction markets being more accurate than sportsbooks, particularly when there is strong public sentiment or inside information not yet reflected in the sportsbook lines.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes for the number of passing touchdowns. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices will shift to reflect the collective assessment of the likelihood of each possible result. The market is dynamic and responds to real-time trading activity.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the number of passing touchdowns scored in the Chicago versus Atlanta game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the actual number of passing touchdowns will receive a payout of 100, while those holding losing contracts will receive nothing.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key quarterbacks or wide receivers on either team would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions for passing, could also impact trading activity. Unexpected news about team strategies or coaching decisions could also play a role. Finally, large volume trades from informed participants could shift the price, reflecting their assessment of the game's likely outcome.
