Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing an outcome, they can take the opposite position, driving the prediction market odds closer to what they perceive as the true probability. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional sportsbooks, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is driven entirely by supply and demand; if more people believe the Chiba Lotte Marines will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic and real-time assessment of the game's potential result.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the Chiba Lotte Marines versus Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles game will be used to determine the winning outcome. The platform will rely on official game results to settle the market, ensuring a transparent and objective resolution process.
