Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, and can sometimes diverge from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on models and risk management, while this market is driven by individual traders expressing their beliefs. It’s common to see differences in probabilities, especially when there’s significant public interest or disagreement about the likely outcome. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders attempt to profit from discrepancies between the two types of odds. Examining both can provide a more comprehensive view of expectations.
On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell shares representing the probability of Chelsea winning by two or more goals. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of the outcome occurring. As more people buy shares, the price increases, and vice versa. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market is entirely driven by supply and demand, meaning the price reflects the collective assessment of all participants. Currently, the volume traded is $0, indicating the level of interest in this particular prediction.
