Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, often incorporating information and analysis not readily available to traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbook odds are set by professional oddsmakers, this market allows anyone to participate and express their beliefs about the likelihood of each team scoring first in the second half. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, access to information, or simply the dynamics of supply and demand within the prediction market. It's common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks in response to new information.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the market price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event's likelihood. The more shares purchased for a particular team, the higher the price will rise, indicating increased confidence in their chances of scoring first in the second half.

This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the second half of the Chelsea FC versus Manchester United FC match. The official match records will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome. The platform will verify the result against publicly available and trusted sources to ensure accuracy and transparency in the resolution process.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Chelsea or Manchester United could significantly shift the odds. Tactical changes announced by either manager, such as a change in formation or starting lineup, could also impact market sentiment. Furthermore, live game events during the first half, like early goals or red cards, will likely cause rapid price adjustments as traders react to the evolving situation. Unexpected weather conditions could also play a role, influencing the style of play and potentially affecting scoring opportunities.
