In the upcoming Premier League game between Chelsea FC and Manchester United FC, scheduled for October 31, 2026 at 8:30 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the halftime score of the Chelsea FC vs. Manchester United FC match originally scheduled for October 31, 2026 at 8:30 AM ET, considering only goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time; second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual halftime score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to express their own probabilities based on information and analysis. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities might arise, where traders can profit by betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities and are subject to change as new information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact first-half scores, and the price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect new information and sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand; higher demand for a particular outcome increases its price, while increased selling pressure decreases it.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the final result of the first half – the exact score – will be used to determine which shares pay out. The resolution will be based on the official match data available from reputable sports news sources and the official league standings. Traders will be able to view the resolved outcome and any associated payouts on Polymarket after the event concludes.
Several factors could influence this market before the match ends. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Chelsea or Manchester United would likely cause significant price movement. Tactical lineup announcements, particularly if they deviate from expectations, could also shift the probabilities. Even weather conditions on match day could play a role, influencing the style of play and potential scoring opportunities. Finally, any significant in-game events during the first half, like early goals or red cards, will dramatically impact the remaining shares.
