Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market aims to represent the true probability of an outcome as determined by traders. You may find that this market's implied probabilities differ from sportsbook odds, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It's common to see discrepancies, as each venue has its own user base and pricing dynamics. Examining these differences can be insightful for informed decision-making.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective belief of the traders. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people buy contracts predicting a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to converge towards the true probability of each outcome as the event approaches. The current volume of trading is $26, indicating the level of interest in this matchup.
