Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, it might indicate that the market perceives information differently than the sportsbook, or that one venue has more informed traders. It's also common to see prediction markets move more quickly to incorporate new information than sportsbooks, especially during live events.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. The current implied probability of Reyes/Stalder winning is 100.0%, based on the share prices. This dynamic pricing allows for a fluid and responsive market.
