Description

This prediction market asks users to forecast which team, Charlotte FC or CF Montréal, will win the second half of a Major League Soccer (MLS) match, or if the second half will end in a draw. The resolution is based on goals scored specifically within the second half of regulation time, including stoppage time.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict define the same resolution criteria for the second half result, including the handling of draws, postponements, cancellations, and data source fallbacks.Primary resolution logic: Official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers.

Core resolution logic:

  • The team scoring more goals in the second half (including stoppage time) wins.
  • If both teams score the same number of goals in the second half, the market resolves to 'Draw'.
  • If the game is postponed, the market remains open until completion.
  • If the game is canceled, the market resolves to 'Draw'.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Data Availability: If official statistics are unavailable within 2 hours, Flashscore data will be used. If Flashscore is unavailable, Sofascore data will be used. If neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting will be used. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours, the market resolves 50-50 or to 'Draw' where applicable.
  • Postponement/Cancellation: A postponed game will have the market remain open until the game is completed. A canceled game will resolve to 'Draw'.
Timing: Resolution will occur once the second half of the match (including any added stoppage time) has concluded and the official result is available, or within 24 hours using the defined fallback data sources. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds, like those seen on Polymarket and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the mechanisms behind price discovery. Sportsbooks set odds based on internal models and aim to balance their risk, while prediction markets rely on the wisdom of the crowd. This market’s odds reflect the aggregate beliefs of traders, potentially incorporating information not fully captured by sportsbooks. This can lead to prediction markets being more accurate, especially when significant public information exists. However, sportsbooks may offer different markets or have different margins, impacting direct comparisons.
