Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional forecasts, as they aggregate diverse perspectives. However, sportsbook odds can be influenced by factors like public betting patterns and promotional offers, leading to potential discrepancies with the probabilities expressed in this market. It’s common to see differences, particularly before significant events or news breaks.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s collective assessment of that outcome’s likelihood. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability of them winning the first half. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and trading activity influence price discovery, and the current price serves as an indicator of the implied probability assigned by traders to each team’s chance of victory.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
