Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on models and internal analysis, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their money behind their beliefs. Frequently, you’ll find prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks to incorporate new information, such as late-breaking news about player injuries or changes in team strategy. This can lead to discrepancies in implied probabilities between the two, making both valuable resources for informed decision-making.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more traders believe a particular team will score first, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly adjust to new information and reflect the evolving expectations of participants. The current volume indicates strong interest in this match.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the Charleston Battery vs. Louisville City FC match. If no goal is scored by either team, the market will resolve as 'No Goal Scored'. The result will be determined by official match data and verified against credible public sources, ensuring a transparent and accurate resolution process. Traders should monitor official sources for the final result.

Several factors could significantly impact this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either the Charleston Battery or Louisville City FC would likely cause shifts in the odds. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to heavily influence the style of play, could also move the market. Unexpected lineup announcements or tactical changes revealed shortly before kickoff might also lead to adjustments. Finally, any significant public sentiment shifts, perhaps driven by expert analysis or fan discussions, could influence trading activity and alter the probabilities reflected in this market.
